My Christmas Memory
I'm sure we drove our parents nuts, but we insisted on waking up at two or three in the morning to open presents. The rule was, we could
dive into the depths of our stockings, but had to wait to open the piles and piles of presents my mother had carefully wrapped. My dad was always the last one out,
due to the fact he insisted on taking a nice, long shower before appearing. Once everyone was present, we would read the Christmas
story in Luke and then would have a prayer, bringing a wonderful spirit into our home. Then it was time for presents, which were opened one
at a time, prolonging the event for hours. After all was opened, my dad made his delicious omelets and the rest of the day was ours
to play with all our good stuff.
