New Year Countdown
Have your child hold up a certain number of fingers on his hand. Start at that number and help count down with your fingers.
When you get to zero yell, happy New Year, and jump up. Have your child choose a different number on his fingers.
Party Balloons
Have your child cut up little squares of colored paper. Find some clear balloons and help your child stuff the paper in the balloon.
You also could put in glitter or bells. Blow up the balloon and let your child play with the party balloon.
Research Around the World
Spend some time with your child at the library, or on the computer, researching how countries around the world celebrate the new year.
You can even make a book with your child with what you learn.
