Preschool Teaching Tips

We all want our children to be able to get the best start in life. Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how to do that. These are my three preschool teaching tips to help.

Books, Books, and more Books

What can be a better way for your kids to learn, than snuggled next to you, reading a favorite book? While enjoying this special time, they are developing the language skills they need. Try to read with your children everyday and start them early with a love of books.

Play, Play and more Play

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from
serious learning. But for children play is serious learning.
Play is really the work of childhood."
- Fred Rogers

When you see the couch dissembled into a large fort go ahead and think, “Wow, look at all the wonderful things my child is learning!” Playing is an excellent way for kids to develop physical, social, language and math skills. On top of that, it is the perfect environment for imagination and creativity to thrive. So get down on your knees and be the dragon of your child’s fort. Enjoy this special time to bond with your little one.

Relax, Slow Down and Enjoy

Let your kids have time to be kids. They will learn to read and write when they are ready but right now is the time for exploring the exciting world around them. Nothing is more important than your children to know they are loved by you. Show them by slowing down and spending some quality time. Enjoy these precious years of wonderful childhood.
